CCISD celebrates Lexington Middle School with ribbon-cutting ceremony

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi ISD celebrated another milestone with the ribbon cutting ceremony of Lexington Middle School.

CCISD Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez said many have been waiting for this special day since the school was added to the 2022 bond. This state-of-the-art school will be the home for sixth to eighth graders. He said with the growing of the city, this area was in need of a middle school.

“This is really important because as we see across our city, there’s been a shift in the population, so a lot of new growth out on the south side along Yorktown,” Hernandez said. “We were able to open Creekside Elementary last year, which is very fitting that Lexington is just right there across the parking lot. It’s a great opportunity for our families who are moving into these neighborhoods, because the nearest school is a good distance away from here and so as it starts to fill in.”…
