Green Bay Area Public School District announces enhanced high school safety protocols, effective September 22

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – After fights at school in recent weeks, the Green Bay Area Public School District (GBAPSD) announced that it is enacting a stricter and more enhanced safety protocol for high schools.

The protocol is effective Monday, September 22, and includes modifications to help respond to any unsafe actions in the schools, specifically amongst high schoolers.

Students who contribute to or are directly involved in starting unsafe behaviors like fighting, assault or weapons, will immediately be removed from the school, with law enforcement likely being involved.

School-based punishments will be determined, with a minimum of a multi-day suspension, and a no-trespass requirement will be enforced for each suspension date, barring the student from being on the campus during the day or during any school activities…
