Man on a bicycle killed in Wichita’s Midtown; suspect apprehended

Wichita police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that took place Wednesday night in Midtown at the intersection of Murdock & Broadway.

At about 9:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the scene of a reported hit-and-run; they found 57-year-old Daniel Forshey lying in the roadway. Sedgwick County EMS arrived shortly after, pronouncing the victim deceased at 9:11 p.m.

The Wichita Police Accident Follow-Up Unit interviewed witnesses and obtained video footage of the suspect’s vehicle. Initial investigations indicate Forshey was riding his bicycle east-bound on Murdock when he was struck by a white 2006 Dodge Ram 1500…
