HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – BFit Gym + Fitness, an Evansville gym, shares its financial struggles in reference to CenterPoint.
Business officials say in August 2023, its CenterPoint bill for four locations was a little over $36,000. Fast forward to August 2025, and that bill is over $55,000 — a 52% increase in just two years. It now takes the business more than 2,000 memberships each month just to pay its utility bill.

BFit Gym + Fitness explains it is not a corporation with Wall Street investors. It is a locally-owned, “community-focused” business — and it is also feeling the squeeze of rising costs.
A spokesperson for the business says, “This isn’t about blaming the mayor, other elected officials or the local CenterPoint employees who live and work here alongside us. It’s about asking CenterPoint as a company to provide relief for southwestern Indiana, because increases like this hurt families, small businesses and the entire community we call home.”…
