Two men were arrested following a chase in Rockingham County on Thursday. According to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, at 9:40 am deputies were performing routine patrol in the area of Gold Hill Rd. and Highway 220 when they noticed a white Dodge Ram occupied by individuals suspected in local breaking and entering’s, and one with outstanding warrants.
Deputies attempted to turn around on the vehicle when it began to accelerate and flee. Deputies viewed the vehicle running other motorists off the road and driving erratically in an attempt to escape.
The NC State Highway patrol joined in the pursuit as did Stoneville Police Department traveling in speeds in excess of 100 mph North on Highway 220. During the chase officers involved reported shots being fired from the fleeing vehicle. Officers reported five to six shots being heard…
