Oak Ridge, TN – The Oak Ridge Police Department, in partnership with East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Choices Resource Center, and Safe Kids Worldwide, will host free car seat safety checks on Friday, September 26, 2025, as part of Child Passenger Safety Week.
Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be on site from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Choices Resource Center, 170 Raleigh Road, Oak Ridge.
Officials say the event will give parents and caregivers the chance to learn how to properly install and use child car seats. “Almost half of car seats are either the wrong seat for the child’s age and size, or installed incorrectly,” said Lt.
