K-9 lends hand in arrest of suspect with methamphetamine

A K-9 was able to lend a hand in the arrest of a suspect with methamphetamine.

Jeffery Dean Ray, 37, of Belleview, was traveling as a passenger in a gray 2006 Honda Accord at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in Wildwood, when the vehicle was pulled over for a non-functioning tag light, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

During a traffic stop, a K-9 unit arrived on the scene and the dog alerted on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search turned up a glass pipe and .4 grams of methamphetamine…
