Unemployment jumped in Austin and San Antonio in August, with the monthly rates in both metro areas up by double digits from a month earlier.
Data released Friday by the Texas Workforce Commission showed the rate in the San Antonio-New Braunfels area was 4.4% in August, up 12.8% from July. The Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos rate was 3.9%, up 11.4%.
