Outdoor warning sirens to go off in Boulder County areas on Friday

DENVER (KDVR) — Outdoor warning sirens are set to go off for three minutes in a handful of areas in Boulder County on Friday morning.

New warning sirens have been installed across the county, and they will be part of a systemwide test at 10 a.m.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that there are 20 new, upgraded warning sirens in the following areas:

  • Eldorado Springs
  • Erie
  • Jamestown
  • Lafayette
  • Louisville
  • Lyons
  • Marshall
  • Superior

The test will make sure the sirens are working properly so they can alert the community in the event of emergencies like weather events, hazardous materials and wildfires…
