ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Anchorage Fire Department raised $102,704 in their Fill the Boot campaign, according to their Facebook post.
Members of the AFD followed the lead of firefighters across the U.S. and took to the streets on Aug. 29 to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The tradition goes back over 70 years.
“This event involved off-duty firefighters, as well as on-duty firefighters as their call volume permitted, soliciting donations from the public for three hours at busy intersections,” the post reads…
