Shots Fired at TV Station After Host Suspended

Sacramento Police are investigating a drive-by shooting at the local ABC10 news station building. The incident occurred Friday afternoon, just after 1:30 p.m., when a vehicle fired multiple shots at a lobby window before fleeing the scene.

Police spokesperson Anthony Gamble confirmed at least three bullets struck the building, though thankfully, no injuries were reported. Authorities are currently investigating the motive for the shooting and have not yet released a description of the vehicle or suspects involved.

The incident follows recent protests outside the station regarding ABC’s decision to suspend late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. The suspension stemmed from comments Kimmel made about the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, remarks which FCC Chairman Brendan Carr condemned as “truly sick.” While former President Donald Trump praised ABC for the suspension, protestors voiced their disapproval outside the station.

Police have not confirmed any link between the protests and the drive-by shooting, stating the connection remains under investigation.
