Man accused of opening fire during fight at Columbia-area apartment complex, injuring 2

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A man is now facing charges after a shooting that left two people hurt at a Columbia-area apartment complex.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said Friday that 20-year-old Jonathan Bethea is charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The counts are linked to a Sept. 14 incident that happened at 1050 Southern Drive. An online search matches the address to the Redpoint Apartments.

RCSD said an investigation revealed Bethea allegedly opened fire after getting in a fight with another person in the area. The victims were not involved in the altercation, according to the sheriff’s department…
