Man charged after 1 killed in ‘accidental shooting’ in Fayetteville, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A man has died after being shot in what Fayetteville police said was an “accidental shooting” at a home on Friday morning.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers were called to the 1700 block of Veanna Drive around 10:06 a.m. “for reports of an accidental shooting.”

When first responders arrived at the scene, they found a man inside a home with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS took the man, identified as 32-year-old Kwamee Dawson of Fayetteville, to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Police said he later died there from his injury…
