KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Traffic data from the first seven months of 2025 shows crashes in Kalamazoo are declining, and city officials are crediting their Streets for All program for making the difference.
The program is designed to slow traffic and provide better and safer facilities for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists. That has included switching four-lane streets to three lanes, lane elimination and narrowing, roundabouts, traffic circles, bike lanes and cycle tracks. City officials say there are also enhanced pedestrian crossings, such as the mural and pedestrian scramble traffic signal at the intersection of Portage Street and Washington Square in the Edison Neighborhood, that they says makes intersection crossing easier and safer to cross in any direction…
