Person in custody after Horry County police investigate ‘weapons incident’ on Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A person is in custody after Horry County police responded to the scene of a “weapons incident” on Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, the department said Friday night.

Authorities were working in the area of S. Kings Highway between 25th Avenue South and 27th Avenue South, HCPD said. Officers initiated a traffic stop at about 8 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle was safely taken into custody, but a passenger in the vehicle pulled out a weapon, according to police.
