SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Cal Fire is ramping up its staffing levels in anticipation of weather conditions that could ignite wildfires. This move comes after more than 530 fires were sparked by lightning in August.
The National Weather Service is forecasting warm and dry conditions combined with incoming tropical moisture, which is expected to bring thunderstorms and gusty winds, with the potential for dry lightning.
