SOLON, Iowa — The Global War on Terror-Wall of Remembrance is now on display in Solon.
“The Global War on Terror technically starts with the 1983 bombing of the Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, and it goes through the withdrawal of forces from Kabul in ’21, ” said Brian Romans, curator of the Wall of Remembrance. “That’s who’s captured upon the wall. All those names lost from 1983, Desert Storm, Desert Shield, the Twin Towers, the Plains, the Pentagon, Iraq, and Afghanistan.”
American Legion Stinocher Post 460 escorted the wall to the Solon Veteran’s Memorial on Thursday.
