Bogalusa man takes home $50K Powerball prize

BATON ROUGE, La. — A historic $1.78 billion Powerball jackpot run created multiple winners in Louisiana, including a $50,000 ticket sold for the Sept. 6 drawing.

James Creel of Bogalusa claimed the prize on Monday, Sept. 8, at the Louisiana Lottery headquarters in Baton Rouge. His ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers plus the red Powerball number.

Creel said he bought the winning quick pick ticket at JR. Food Mart #369 on Highway 25 and Highway 40 in Folsom. He initially stopped at his usual store but left because the checkout line was too long…
