AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Among 6,000 students who qualified for a prestigious program, only 102 were selected, and John Cantu, a fourth grader from Windsor Elementary School, is one of them.
“When my parents first told me that I made it in, like I was part of the 102, I didn’t believe them,” said John Cantu. “Like I was like, no, I’m no, I’m not, I, I did not make it. I don’t believe you. So I was like, I started crying, like I was so happy and like I was speechless. And, it’s just a wonderful time in my life.”
