Opelousas police hold community walk to strengthen relationship with public

OPELOUSAS, La. (NEWS 15) — The Opelousas Police Department organized a community walk on the city’s northside on Wednesday, September 17. This initiative aims to strengthen the relationship between the police and the community.

Police Chief Graig LeBlanc and his officers participated in the walk, directly engaging with residents.

“We just want to get input on what’s working for the community and maybe what’s not working, what we need to change, what we need to improve on, and just to give, just to build that bond with the community, and have the officers out so they’ll know who’s policing them, to get to know them, to get to create a bond with the community,” Chief LeBlanc explained…
