One Person Seriously Injured in Central Lincoln Hit and Run

Lincoln Police say one person was seriously injured when a stolen car struck a pickup at 52nd and ‘L’ Street just before 9:00 Friday morning. Lt. Dustin Romshek tells KLIN News the Nissan Ultima ran a stop sign and crashed into a Chevy Silverado that was westbound on ‘L’ Street.

Romshek the impact forced the truck into a tree and the car ended up in the yard of a home. He says two juveniles who were in the Nissan got out and fled the scene on foot. The driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Romshek says the Ultima was reported stolen overnight from the strip mall near 27th and ‘S’ Street. “About ten minutes prior to the accident officers tried stopping the vehicle at 56th and ‘O’ Street, but it fled and the officer did not pursue the vehicle.”…
