Ohio lawmakers propose housing assistance bill for seniors, people with disabilities

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio lawmakers have introduced legislation to restart a modified version of a COVID-era homeowner assistance program, focused on helping senior citizens and people with disabilities.

Senate Bill 255 would revive and restructure the Save the Dream program, which provided mortgage, property tax and utility assistance to Ohio homeowners in 2022 and 2023. The new version would operate on a smaller scale with a smaller eligibility pool.
