Stockton will soon host one of America’s most legendary activists. Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers and a lifelong champion for social justice, will speak at San Joaquin Delta College on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 12 p.m.
The free community event, titled “Voices of Change: Dolores Huerta Speaks to the Next Generation,” will take place at Atherton Auditorium on the Stockton campus. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. A daily parking permit is required.
Huerta, now in her mid-90s, continues to inspire new generations with her fight for workers’ rights, gender equality, and civic engagement. She is best known for rallying alongside César Chávez during the farmworker movement of the 1960s, but her influence extends far beyond.
