A New Orleans inmate has been sentenced to life in prison after he attacked corrections officers by throwing feces during a security round inside the B.B. “Sixty” Rayburn Correctional Facility.
The Incident
According to WDSU, 37-year-old Tomarcus Porter was already serving 20 years for multiple convictions when the attack happened. On June 10, during his battery trial, prosecutors described how Porter refused to follow instructions from officers, reached into his toilet, and hurled human feces at them. One officer was hit in the face, arms, and legs, while another was struck in the head and shoulder.
