Albany Man arrested on warrants, bail jumping for 2020 larceny

Albany man has not shown up yet, judge sets bail

GLENMONT – An Albany man arrested in 2020 for petit larceny at a Walmart has now been arrested three more times because he has not shown up for court over the last five years.

According to reports, Elier Rivera-Sanchez, 46, was the subject of a check-a-person call on Monday, Aug. 28, because employees from Market 32 on Glenmont Road wanted him to be trespassed from the store due to incidents there. When police found Rivera-Sanchez near CVS, they checked his identification and found he had an outstanding warrant from the town.

Rivera-Sanchez was arrested at Walmart in May 2020 for larceny, but failed to show up after he was issued an appearance ticket, and the Bethlehem judge issued a bench warrant. He was arrested again on the first warrant when he was picked up from the Albany County jail in September 2022, but did not show up then either.
