Suspect arrested after stabbing at University of Michigan construction site, manhunt overnight

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) — A man was arrested on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, after a stabbing and manhunt Thursday night.

An emergency alert was sent to the campus community, just before 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, about the incident at the construction site of Michigan Medicine’s new hospital at Catherine Street and Zina Pitcher Place. That’s near C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, and several university lecture and residence halls.

Investigators with the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) said the suspect tried to get inside the site, but was denied entry. That’s when police said he assaulted and stabbed someone…
