Closing arguments set for Monday in case of alleged false police report

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Closing statements in a case accusing several Norfolk Police officers of falsifying a 2020 accident report as part of a retaliation scheme are expected Monday.

Then it’s in the hands of the jury, as they’ve now heard four days of testimony and facts.

Through all of it, the case can best be described this way: Did three Norfolk Police officers conspire to minimize the severity of a car crash because one of the officers previously gave the victim of that crash — a ticket for trespassing?

Brandon Williams, 40, initially sued back in 2022 for nearly $4.6 million, claiming that several officers conspired to downplay the severity of a car accident he was involved in, in order to keep him from bringing a claim for his injuries…
