Man arrested after stolen vehicle tracked by GPS crosses state lines

MONROE COUNTY, Mich. — Sheriff deputies recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested the driver Saturday morning in Bedford Township.

According to Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodenough, Toledo police alerted the Michigan authorities around 8:02 a.m. that a 2008 Nissan reported stolen in Toledo was traveling northbound on I-75 across the Ohio-Michigan state line. According to authorities, the vehicle was being tracked by a GPS and updates were relayed to deputies as they attempted to intercept it.

According to the sheriff, deputy Zachary Straub located the car near Samaria Road and followed it until additional units arrived. The driver of the vehicle eventually pulled into the Sunoco gas station in the 9000 block of Lewis Avenue in Temperance, where authorities stated a felony stop was conducted…
