Trader Joe’s is opening two locations in Texas this year, but similar to some other national chains, many El Pasoans have wondered if the popular grocery chain was bound to pop up in the Sun City.
Known for its private-label and unique items, Trader Joe’s has at least 26 locations in Texas, including new store openings in Kingwood and Cypress (both in Houston) in 2025. Nearby New Mexico has three locations, two in Albuquerque and one in Santa Fe.
It appears that Trader Joe’s has overlooked West Texas, as many of its stores are located in the central part of the state, with the majority situated in San Antonio, Dallas and Austin…
