An affordable housing complex with units reserved for low-income seniors opened in Houston’s Third Ward neighborhood Friday.
New Hope Housing Gray adds 135 units to the city’s affordable stock, 81 of which are for very low-income seniors. The one- and two-bedroom apartments on Gray Street are now available to lease, and individuals who make between about $20,000 and $45,000 a year are eligible to apply.
In a statement, New Hope Housing president and CEO Joy Horak-Brown called the development “a thoughtful, strategic response to Houston’s deepening affordability crisis.”…
