The future of Englewood’s CityCenter hangs in the balance as the Englewood City Council prepares to host a public hearing on the proposed redevelopment plans with New Englewood LLC. Slated for September 22 at 7 p.m., the gathering will unfold at the City Council Chambers within the Englewood Civic Center. Under the proposed agreement, significant parcels of the CityCenter, lying east of Inca Street, are poised to transfer into the hands of New Englewood, LLC. In turn, the city is set to gain control over the vacant 24 Hour Fitness building and adjacent retail space west of the ArtWalk apartment complex. The deal also includes providing the city with an option to eventually outrightly purchase the plot housing Tokyo Joe’s.
