BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A collision on Highway 65 at Famoso Road resulted in the deaths of two people, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash involved a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle, leading to the complete blockage of both northbound and southbound lanes.
The incident occurred when a 76-year-old man driving a 2016 Honda Fit eastbound on Famoso Road failed to stop at a posted stop sign and entered the intersection with Highway 65. A 55-year-old man driving a 2014 Freightliner tractor-trailer southbound on Highway 65 collided with the Honda, striking its driver’s side.
