A Villager was arrested after she allegedly used a golf club to pound a man’s rib cage.
Catherine Ridley, 43, who lives with her parents in the Village of Fernandina, was taken into custody Thursday at AdventHealth in Ocala. She is facing a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
The man, who has been in a romantic relationship with Ridley, suffered “large red welts” on the left side of his rib cage and back, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Ridley had been staying with the man and they got into an argument about the position in which he had been sleeping. The man packed Ridley’s bags and urged her to leave. Apparently enraged, Ridley picked up a golf club and struck him “hard” three times on the left side of his rib cage.
