Community Youth Mosaic celebrates 20 years in downtown Sioux Falls with new addition

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The Community Youth Mosaic in Downtown Sioux Falls is getting an addition for its 20th anniversary celebration.

The art installation was started by students at Hawthorne Elementary School, eventually growing to include middle and high school students, who used the art to tell a story about peace and the expanding cultural diversity in Sioux Falls.

The event on Saturday honored Porter Williams, a key figure in helping inspire the wall and a civil rights activist who strived to keep those stories of Sioux Falls’ cultural background alive…
