Foley Ridge Fire grows to 482 acres, remains uncontained

MCKENZIE BRIDGE, Ore. – Firefighters are actively battling the Foley Ridge Fire, which has grown to 482 acres due to lightning, according to U.S. Forest Service officials.

Incident management authorities said that the fire remains 0% contained, with 372 personnel working to control the flames. Crews are focusing their efforts on the western flank, where the fire is spreading laterally along Foley Ridge. Strategic firing operations were conducted to eliminate unburned fuel and secure the area. Ground crews continue to patrol hot spots and work on structure protection near the Foley Seed Orchard.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has issued Level 2 evacuation notices for HWY 242, Yale Camp, and several campgrounds. Residents are urged to stay informed about evacuation updates. Several roads, including Foley Ridge Road and HWY 242, are closed. Campgrounds and trailheads within the closure area are also inaccessible.
