First responders from across the city were recognized this week at DMC Sinai Grace Hospital by the Detroit East Medical Control Authority (DEMCA) for their extraordinary dedication to saving lives and providing critical pre-hospital care.
The ceremony honored teams that have risen to the challenge in moments of crisis. From rapid stabilization in high-pressure emergencies to consoling grieving families, these responders embody courage, skill, and compassion. Damon Gorelick, the executive director of DEMCA, shared that “this is extra important for us to truly say ‘Thank you’ in general. Thank you for your service and everything they are trying to do to keep this community safe & better.”
