KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A barbeque restaurant owner and liquor store owner teamed up Sunday to hand out free food to the community.

For the past 10 years, Virgil Wattchel, owner of Virgil’s Barbeque, has been holding a free community cookout at J & B Discount Liquor on West Stockbridge Avenue near South Burdick Street, according to Wattchel.
Ribs tips, burgers, hot dogs, fried fish, macaroni and cheese and baked beans were all served Sunday as people lined up outside with to-go containers for their food…
