Ohio man impersonates officer to scam Kentucky woman before arrest

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An Ohio man is facing fraud charges after police say he impersonated an officer to scam a Kentucky woman out of money.

It all began on Sept. 17 when authorities in Clay County said woman had been contacted by a man who told her she would be charged with crimes and was told to get money.

While the victim was speaking to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy heard a man in the background tell the woman over the phone to go home and wait until no one was around. He would call and come by her house…
