Lehigh County receives pet disaster relief trailer to aid animals during emergencies

Lehigh County Emergency Management Agency has received a new resource to help pets during disasters, thanks to a donation from AKC Reunite and the Kennel Club of Philadelphia.

The AKC Pet Disaster Relief trailer, delivered on Sept. 10, is designed to provide temporary shelter for at least 65 pets during the first 72 hours after a disaster declaration. It represents the 119th such trailer donated nationwide by AKC Reunite, the largest non-profit pet identification and recovery service provider in the United States.
