Why you will see more cops on York County’s busiest roads this week

More police officers will be patrolling major York County roads the next three days as law enforcement officials hope to cut down on traffic collisions and fatalities.

Extra troopers will be assigned to York County Tuesday through Thursday targeting speeding and DUI along with other violations and unsafe driving behaviors, S.C. Highway Patrol Capt. Scott Darby said.

More patrols will cover most of the major highways. Included are U.S. 21, S.C. 72, S.C. 274, S.C. 55, S.C. 557, S.C. 49, S.C. 161, and Porter Road that runs near Interstate 77, Darby said…
