WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) – Community members gathered in Waynesboro to support the LIFEworks Project and its River City Bread Basket during a Charity Day fundraiser Friday hosted by Tidal Wave Auto Spa.
The event, which donated 50% of the day’s proceeds, will help fund LIFEworks’ expanding services in the city and Augusta County. Organizers said the support comes at a time of growing need.
“Last fiscal year, we served more than 1,400 families, and we’ve added more than 100 new families since June,” said Adrienne Young, executive director of the LIFEworks Project. “That number is only going to grow. We want to be able to meet that need and keep serving, because everybody just needs a leg up, not a handout.”…
