CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) — A cold front will move across the state Monday and lead to showers and thunderstorms by the late afternoon. Some storms may be strong with damaging winds and hail.
Storms will likely develop after 6 p.m. in northern Iowa and produce hail and heavy rain initially. Hail up to the size of quarters will be possible.
The threat will then shift to damaging winds of 40 to 60 mph as storms push to the south through the night. There’s uncertainty in how far south storms will hold together, but they would approach Highway 30 (Cedar Rapids) around 10-11 p.m…
