Sheriff: Illegal immigrant had BAC of .244 at time of fatal Stephenson County crash

STEPHENSON COUNTY, Ill. (WTVO) — The undocumented man from Guatemala, whom the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office says caused a fatal DUI crash in August, had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of more than three times the legal limit, the office reported Monday.

According to a news release, 30-year-old Rolando Ico-Choc had a BAC of .244 when the Nissan Altima he was driving crossed the centerline on Aug. 9 and struck a Ford Edge driven by 61-year-old Darcy Connolly-Brunner on Illinois Route 26 North near Oneco Road in Orangeville.

The crash occurred just after noon. Both drivers were killed.
