BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The man shot and killed in Taft on September 15 has been identified as Benjamin Alexander Bernal, 36, of Taft.
Bernal was shot by another person at around 3:51 a.m. last Monday in the 200 block of Philippine Street and died at the scene. An autopsy revealed that Bernal’s cause of death was gunshot wounds to the head and chest, and the manner was homicide.
A suspect, Nahaman Bucato, 34, was arrested for alleged murder. According to an arrest report, Kern County deputies responded to a call in the 200 block of Philippine Street early Monday morning. Bucato contacted dispatchers and confessed, “he had just shot and killed someone.”…
