Ashtabula man sentenced to prison for carjacking woman in Lake County, leading police chase

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — An Ashtabula man was sentenced to prison Friday for carjacking a woman after leading police on a car chase that stretched across several Lake and Geauga County communities in May.

Jacob Montgomery, 32, was sentenced Friday to a minimum of 12 years and a maximum of 17 and a half years in prison by Lake County Common Pleas Judge Patrick J. Condon, according to a Willoughby police news release.

The case began May 14 around 8:24 p.m., when Willowick officers pursued a vehicle into Willoughby on Euclid Avenue. Willoughby police helped block intersections and tried to deploy tire deflation devices before Willowick police ended the pursuit near Vine and Church streets, police said…
