Blue Bottle located inside historic Bay Area building to close after 11 years

After 11 years, Blue Bottle Coffee is set to close its spacious cafe inside Oakland’s historic W.C. Morse building on Friday, Sept. 26.

Blue Bottle customers learned of the forthcoming closure from a memo posted to the coffee shop’s storefront, as first reported by Oaklandside. In the goodbye message, the Oakland-based coffee roaster shared that the decision had been “difficult” but thanked customers who made the space “a special place.”

A Blue Bottle spokesperson confirmed the upcoming closure, telling SFGATE via email that the closure was part of a company decision to close “a small number of cafes as part of our regular business review process.” The spokesperson did not share which other Blue Bottle stores would be impacted…
