Cummings Township, Pa. — A man claimed to have no knowledge of the night he allegedly strangled his girlfriend after partying, according to police.
Douglas Ruhl, 67, of Lititz drank more than 10 shots and multiple beers on Aug. 31 as he stayed at a campsite in the 14000 block of the Coudersport Pike in Cummings Township, according to witnesses who spoke with police. Ruhl was taken back to a cabin by the victim, who sat on a couch and watched television after returning.
Ruhl, who fell over a chair inside the structure, put his hand in front of the victim’s face. When she tried to walk away, Ruhl allegedly grabbed her, causing a “rug burn type of injury,” according to Officer Brian Yoas of the Lycoming Regional Police Department…
