Plans outline oceanfront resort, parking garage in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — A new timeshare resort and parking garage could be coming soon to 23rd Avenue North.

This Tuesday’s workshop agenda for the Myrtle Beach City Council includes a first reading of an incentive plan for a builder proposing a new $230 million oceanfront resort, replacing an older, now-demolished hotel.

At the workshop, a voucher incentive will be discussed. If passed, the city may have to reimburse up to $2 million in various fees collected over the next five years. The proposal cites construction rates that have risen 300% since the Hilton Grand Vacations and Oceans 22 were built…
