Sacramento State Community Grieves Loss of Senior in Fatal I-5 Collision

The Sacramento community is mourning the loss of Victor Manuel Castaneda, a 21-year-old Sacramento State senior, who was tragically killed in a horrific accident on Interstate 5. Castaneda’s pickup truck had become disabled, and was subsequently struck by a tractor-trailer last Saturday, as reported by FOX40. The California Highway Patrol stated that the early morning crash occurred north of Sutterville Road and resulted in all northbound lanes being temporarily shut down.

On his way to work when the fatal incident unfolded, Castaneda experienced vehicle failures that led to his truck losing its tires and becoming disabled, according to the CHP.
