Among the incidents, a 20-year-old man perished after being shot and crashing his vehicle on the East Side early Sunday morning, NBC Chicago reported.

The young man, who is yet to be identified, was driving a silver SUV when he was struck by gunfire, resulting in a crash that flipped the vehicle over after hitting multiple parked cars along the 10100 block of South Avenue M. Police discovered him with a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to the hospital, where his death was pronounced. Shortly after, a 20-year-old woman involved in the same incident sought help at a nearby residence with a gunshot wound to the leg and is currently in good condition.
